KOT bash Kenyan law after Wangeci’s murder suspect pleads not guilty

Naftali Kinuthia, the suspect on Ivy Wangeci’s murder, has denied charges and pleaded not guilty in Eldoret Court. He has been remanded till May 9.

Through his lawyer, Kinuthia has applied for bail as the court denied Wangeci’s family plea to have the case moved to Nairobi.

Kenyans have since expressed their disappointment at the law giving reasons why Naftali will walk a free man.

One has stated that Naftali Kinuthia will probably walk a free man because Prosecution doesn’t have anything incriminating him directly to the murder of Ivy Wangeci.

The Evidence was Handled poorly by the Police. Courts deals with Facts, Andy stated.

Kinuthia was locked up on April 15 for 14 days after senior assistant State Director of Public Prosecution Fredah Mwanza requested the court to allow police more time to complete investigations.

Naftali Njahi Kinuthia, 29, appeared before Eldoret Senior Resident Magistrate Douglas Moseti on Tuesday after the prosecution confirmed that he is fit for trial.

Kinuthia is alleged to have hacked to death Ivy Wangeci, a sixth-year medical student at Moi University School of Medicine, on April 9, outside Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Consequently, an irate mob descended on him on the said day but was rescued by police. He reportedly told investigators that the late Ms. Wangeci, who was his childhood friend, had rejected his advances.

Well as one said, the dead cannot talk. Can there be two sides of the Ivy Wangeci story?
