Attention has turned to a Kakamega woman after her daughter exposed her for fixing his relatives on rape allegations whenever they had disagreements.
The woman, as the child testified in a Court of Law, has the habit of implicating relatives.
“My mother has a habit of framing innocent people to get them punished whenever she disagrees with them,” she testified.
This was after the mother rushed to court to implicate Maurice Muhanda of defiling the 11-year-old girl in December 2018.
But in an unprecedented twist, the girl told the court that her mother had instructed her to provide false witness against Muhanda, after they had a disagreement.
The prosecution saw that the case had no merit following the girl’s confession, and decided to withdraw the case against Muhanda.
“In view of the minor’s confession to the effect that her mother had compelled her to implicate the accused falsely, I wish to withdraw my case against him,” said Paul Juma, a lawyer handling the case.
In her admission, the girl’s mother had told the court that her daughter had been waylaid by Muhanda from church.
She added that Muhanda had dragged her to a nearby sugarcane plantation and raped her before leaving her lying prostrate on the farm.
At the time, the mother even said Mr Muhanda had transmitted a sexually transmitted infection to her daughter after the act.
