Bobi would find his name on the ballot. He ended up defeating his closest rival, one Dr Bagendo with a landslide. Dr Bagendo has been in the facility for the last Five Years.

The process of elections at the Luriza Prison all began during the Easter festivities when the nominations were carried out. Campaigns then kicked off with Dr Bagendo been seen as the man to beat heading into the polls.

By Yesterday, word had gone round that Bobi Wine could soon be in Luzira having been arrested on his way to the CID headquarters.

One of his agents, Bazito, quickly petitioned the electoral commission and argued that his candidate should be included on the ballot.

The Prison administration first refused to have Bobi be part of the polls. His agent was however able to point out that the Kyadondo East Legislator will be contesting by the people’s power.

Bazito went and mobilised other inmates and they camped at Mr. Katoto’s office, the head of the prisoners electoral commission.

They threatened to beat him up if he did not put Bobi Wine on the ballot.

Sensing danger and with great fear for his life, Katoto gave in and put Bobi Wine’s name on the ballot, leading to jubilations around the prison.

By the grace of luck, Bobi Wine arrived at Luzira when voting was 30 minutes away.

The vibrant Bobi was granted 10 minutes to address the inmates who would later lift him up as they chanted, “President”

Voting began and after an hour, results were out with Bobi Wine getting 90% of the votes with the then favourite candidate, Bagendo getting 10%.

The head of elections declined to declare Bobi Wine the winner forcing inmates to rough him up. He was given a serious beating after which in a low and faded tone, he decalred Bobi Wine the winner.

This led to widespread jubilations across the Correctional facility with Bobi Wine’s sounds from Bobi Wine’s hit “Kyarenga” filling the air.
