While we complain that there is no money in Kenya there are careers that will never know what poverty means. Some of us don’t have the brains for some of these careers or the heart for them but according to this, these are the best-earning careers and we believe them.
1. Medicine
Of course Doctors had to be at the top of this list. For starters, they study for 5 years and then go on internship which makes it 6 years. During their internship most of them have reached 200k after CBA. They always earn over 100k especially because they can do locums or rather go to other clinics during their free time. When they specialize a surgeon can even get 500k from a hospital to perform a procedure.
2. Accounting, actuaries and finance

3. Politics
Of course politicians earn a lot of money, they have a lot of benefits such as house allowance, security and just by existing they earn money. Majority of the politicians in parliament earn from KSh 500K and above.
4. Marketing and sales
Marketers will forever be in a good position because everyone needs marketing. They also get commissions on good sales, the starting salary is not usually the best but they can easily get past 100k from the sales they make.
5. People in IT
Technology is the next best thing in Kenya and in the world so people in IT are among the few who could actually earn a lot of money. According to an IT expert, the cream of the profession in Kenya can earn over Ksh 500,000 a month this also includes people like software engineers.
6. Lecturers
Lecturers are able to earn a lot of money because they can have different hustles at a time. You need to have the patience of studying long and hard beyond the graduate, masters to PhD level in order to command a higher salary. Though teaching has traditionally been viewed as barren grounds for money, some top dons in universities earn close to Ksh 500,000 per month. They mostly have a lot of part-time opportunities.
7. Pilots
Pilots earn well but it really depends on the airline. A Wall Street journal in March 2013 reported that it takes Kenya Airways about Ksh 8.5 million to train a pilot. The same source alleges that a captain makes up to Ksh 1.1 million.
8. Engineers
Depending on the type of engineering people in this career have managed to make a good living over time. They are still not too many and are doing well. Salaryexplorer.com pegs the income of a project engineer at Ksh 550,000 on the higher side although this figure is not fixed.
These are the jobs that are said to be the best paying but it doesn’t mean you can’t make money in your current career. There are people who make more money from farming than normal traditional jobs.
