The Kyaddodo East legislator was on his way to record a statement over recent accusations of “inciting violence”.

Just six days ago, Bobi Wine was barricaded and arrested by Ugandan authorities while on transit to one of the venues for his Kyarenga Extra concert that had been previously cancelled by Ugandan police.

Wine has been lamenting Museveni clinging on to power. He has been urging Ugandans to stand up against Museveni’s rule. He feels that the current regime has not done much to change the lives of the citizens since Museveni took over power.

The arrests of Bobi Wine comes barely a month after Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni was booed by Kenyatta University Students when he toured the campus to deliver a talk.

Police were compelled to lob tear gas canisters at rowdy students who were shouting pro-Bobi Wine chants outside a building where Museveni was giving a public lecture.
