Deputy President William Ruto has been warned of associating with Kiambu governor who is termed to be corrupt.
Waititu has been accused by hiding behind Ruto to steal the public money.
Section of Kiambu politicians led by Kamau Mathenge, Chairman of a lobby dubbed Kiambu we want, state that they will push for the Waititu to step down as his name has been tainted.
Last week ,Kiambu chief Finance officer was arrested alongside her driver who is romoured to be Waititu’s first cousin were arrested with million stashed in their vehicle with fake registration Number.
A source has said that the money was aimed to pay a Mzungu for a plot the governor has brought.
Since 2017,the governor a close ally to the Dp has been making deragatory statements that seem directed to the head of state.
MR Kamau further states that the DP should shed off all those corrupt officials following him.
“People like Waititu are the one soiling the DP reputation,once they steal millions,people think Ruto has sent them in order to fund his 2022 campaign,” he said.
Two months ago, the governor had requested president Uhuru to go slow on corruption noting that it may lead the war, especially in the rift valley.
“Just go slow on fight against corruption,it is not good especially when it turn out certain community is being targeted,” he said.
Also Waititu recently dared Uhuru to announce his stand toward Ruto’s 2022 candidature.
Waititu said that there is no short cut on Ruto’s presidency as Mount Kenya will have no choice but to support the DP.
