Another cold night has been added to the list of criminals arrested alongside Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
Kidero will spend Monday night in a police cell awaiting a ruling on his bail application on Tuesday afternoon.
Kidero alongside several other suspects were arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts on Monday and charged with abuse of office, money laundering, conspiracy to commit the offense of corruption, unlawful acquisition of public property and dealing with suspect property.
The former Governor and his co-accused, who have been in custody since their arrest on Friday, April 26, denied the charges and urged the court to release them on bail.
The court directed they be remanded at Kilimani Police Station.
Kidero has been arrested over irregular payment of Sh68 million to a law firm.
Kidero’s Former Chief of Staff George Wainaina and former Councillor Paul Mutunga were also been arrested.
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials said they had been investigating the three individuals for irregularly paying legal fees to M/s Wachira Mburu, Mwangi and Company Advocates.
