Criminals Impersonating Police Officers arrested In Homa Bay

Cases of criminals impersonating police officers are becoming rampant, same as cases of police getting involved in crime.

A week ago, fkying squad hunted down criminals impersonating as traffic police officers in Machakos county.

On Sunday Police in Homa Bay County arrested two criminals in military uniforms within Sindo Township in Suba South Sub-County.

The Sub-county Police Commander Richard Cheruiyot said the suspects; Harrison Ochieng’ and Manfred Nyaronyi Mirongo, were nabbed by detectives acting on a tip-off from members of the public.

Later, Police officers stormed the suspects’ house near Sindo Trading Centre where they recovered several pairs of military uniforms, two pairs of military boots, one pair of flat shoes and a military bag. all of the genuine military fatigue with service number and name tag of a military officer who was not identified

It was confirmed that the uniforms found were genuine military fatigue with the service number and a name tag of a military officer who could not be immediately identified.

Police suspect the uniforms were stolen from a military officer and then handed over to the suspects for unknown reasons.

It is suspected that these two have been carrying out criminal activates in the region using the military uniforms.

He said the suspects continue being in police custody for further investigations before they are arraigned in court.
