Defending Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia extended their lead at the top of the table to 7 points following a 2-0 win over Tusker FC in a match played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.

Gor Mahia, fresh from being awarded a walkover after Mount Kenya United failed to show up for their match on Thursday started the better side and were ahead as early as in the 16th minute. Jacques Tuyisenge made good use of his height to head the Champions in-front, his 61st goal for the club.

Hassan Oktay’s side doubled their just after the hour mark through Samuel Onyango. Half time found the champions leading by two goals to nothing.

The Second half was more of Gor Mahia basically going through the motions and keeping the ball away from Tusker. Tusker did, however, have the ball in the net but it was chalked off for offside.

Gor Mahia held on to ensure that they have picked up maximum points despite having to play 3 games in the space of 5 days! The win moves them to 55 points on the log while Tusker remains 6th with 38 points.
