Justice has come inches closer as police have arrested at least 10 people over the killing of Red Cross Volunteer, Amina Bakari, in Lamu.
She was a very resourceful person and an educator who had helped drug users from FAZA ward. Her loss was greatly felt by many.
Ms Bakari was hacked to death in Mbwajumwali village, Lamu East, four days ago. Amina Bakari was hit on the head as she closed her shop at 10.00 pm.
The administrator said nothing was stolen from her after the attack.Police sources in the area then launched a manhunt for the unknown attackers promising to bring them to book.
Officer Kanyiri asserted that the 10 arrested are suspected to have taken part in the gruesome killing of the Red Cross volunteer.
He further divulged that some of the suspects were found in possession of drugs.
This confirmed earlier suspicion that she was killed by a drug gang as most attacks and killings in the area are linked to drugs.
Amina was a well know peer educator, who had been trained by the Harm Reduction Project, she was also a peace ambassador.
