It was bundles upon bundles of cash when detectives nabbed an infamous drug dealer, who supplied drugs to Nairobi and its neighbouring counties.
In the Friday afternoon bust, police stumbled on loads of cash in Kenya shillings in Mr Simon Kariuki Wangeci when they raided his Githurai 44 Home.
In the meticulously coordinated operation, police found the unsuspecting Mr Wangeci, alias Tony, packing rolls of bhang in a group of his workers.
This was after a team drawn from the office of the OCPD Kasarani and that of the DCIO came together to put an end to the drug menace bedevilling the area.
In the operation that took less than an hour to complete, Kasarani DCIO Mwendwa Meme and OCPD Peter Kimani said they were armed to the teeth even as they approached the drug dealers compound.
Prepared for any eventualities, the cops swung into action, catching the criminal flat-footed together with two of his workers.
In the heavily curtained house, police managed to recover huge rolls of bhang as well as loads of cash running into millions of shillings.
“We have managed to arrest the main suspect and nab a huge amount of bhang,”said Mr Kimani immediately after completing the mission.
