Former Barcelona star Lionel Messi has finally made public the reason why he left Barcelona.
Neymar was among the trio in Barcelona including Messi and Luis Suarez who once made teams stagger at their mercy.
Neymar enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in Catalunya, registering over 100 goals, and a clean sweep of honours including the treble-winning side back in 2015.
He went on to complete a record-breaking €222 million (£198m/$250m) deal to PSG in 2017.
His departure from Camp Nou caught many by surprise and for a long time, many did not know the key reason why he left.
“I left because I wanted a new challenge, the challenge to win and find something new, to find new tests.
“Barcelona is a club that has always fascinated me, and I still love it today. But at that time I wanted to try something new and that’s why I decided to leave.
“It was very difficult to make that decision, there were even moments when I hesitated and asked not to leave.
“I was like that for about two weeks before deciding to go to Paris.”
The Brazilian has managed to bag all the domestic titles but has failed to win the Champions League.
Currently, Real Madrid are looking forward to sign the star this summer.
