Irony!ODM misses in ballot & elections are held peacefully

The Wajir West by-elections results streamed in this morning revealing Jubilee’s party Ahmed Kolosh victory after garnering 11,053 votes triumphing KANU rival Ibrahim Mohamud who got 6,532 votes.

A total of 17,000 voters turned out to vote in the by-election.

Hon Rashid Kassim conveyed his hearty congratulations Kolosh saying
it is indeed a well deserved victory to him and the good people of Wajir West further adding that this is a litmus test for our nascent democracy.

It has since been noted that the elections were unique in that they were peaceful unlike in instances where ODM is in the ballot.

For example in the last Ugenya by-elections three people carrying weapons were arrested in Ugenya, Siaya County, as residents headed to the polls.

Violence cases were reported in North Ugenya where supporters attacked each other

The Orange Democratic Movement has congratulated Ahmed Kolosh of the Jubilee Party after he was declared the victor in the Wajir West by-election on Friday.

ODM said the party was ready to work with Kolosh to serve residents of Wajir West constituency.

Kolosh decamped from Raila Odinga’s ODM party after the Supreme Court overturned his election on January 19.

Do you think ODM not being in the ballot led to the peaceful elections held?
