The act by the Orange Democratic Party to congratulate the Jubilee candidate Ahmed Kolosh has been criticized by different political players.
After the win, ODM said the party was ready to work with Kolosh to serve residents of Wajir West constituency.
“Congratulations Hon. Ahmed Kolosh on recapturing the Wajir West parliamentary seat. We are glad to have been associated with you and introduced to serious politics. Time to serve your people now,” said in a statement.
Political analyst Kamu Thenge states that ODM just wished Kolosh congratulatory message as they didn’t have otherwise.
He claimed that Kolosh was a staunch ODM candidate but he was betrayed by the top organ before joining the Jubilee.
Kolosh won the Wajir West parliamentary seat after gaining 11,053 votes.
His rival from Kanu Ibrahim Mohamud came second after garnering 6,532 votes.
A total of 17,000 voters turned out to vote in the by-election. The constituency has a total Number of 21,544 voters.
Among the first to congratulate Kolosh was National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi.
