As Kenya joins the world in marking World Malaria Day on 25th April 2019, a young boy from Baringo county has been celebrated as a hero for his contribution towards the disease campaign.
Kenya Red Cross Society, KRCS has revealed via a twitter post that the boy identified as Matayo volunteered to offer translation when they visited the remote area on Malaria mission.
“Young Matayo, pictured here, once offered and volunteered to become a translator for our team while on a Malaria response mission in Baringo in 2017,” Tweeted KRCS.
According to the World Health Organization, WHO this year’s theme during the annual Malaria Day celebrations is “Zero Malaria Start With ME“.
I celebrate Matayo. That is a real volunteer and a calling to him.
