The race for the 2022 Presidential elections keeps gaining momentum with every day that passes by. Kenya is already in a political mood despite the fact that we just came from a highly volatile election slightly a year ago.

DP William Ruto and his TangaTanga brigade have time and again been accused of engaging in early politicking instead of focusing on helping President Kenyatta achieve his much hyped Big 4 Agenda.

The early political campaigns have even divided the ruling Jubilee Party with another faction calling itself the “Kieleweke” squad taking issue with their colleagues in the TangaTanga brigade for undermining the President.

Well, Uhuru had asked MPs and leaders aligned to the Jubilee Party to desist from politicking and instead focus on serving the people that voted for them.

Some leaders like Maina Kamanda followed the President’s directive while others like Kimani Ichungwa and Ndindi Nyoro continued with their Tanga Tanga crusades across various parts of the country.

With this in mind, Kamanda hinted that President Uhuru Kenyatta may abandon his deputy William Ruto ahead of the next election.

Maina Kamanda (Nominated), acccused Ruto of being ‘disloyal’ to his boss by starting 2022 campaigns even before Uhuru has completed one year after he was sworn-in to serve his second and last term in office.

In an interview with a vernacular radio, Kamanda said although the DP had not been campaigning personally, he has mobilised a group of MPs and Senators who have been doing so on his behalf.

“He (Ruto) is always accompanied by politicians who whenever they open their mouths they talk of Ruto becoming president as if the election is tomorrow yet we just had one last year,” he said while at Inooro FM’s studios.

The former Starehe MP said Uhuru, despite having pledged to back Ruto’s bid, may change his mind if the much politicking threaten the Big Four agenda and war on corruption, the pillars on which he is building his legacy.

The veteran politician reminded Ruto that it is through loyalty that retired President Daniel Moi managed to succeed Mzee Jomo Kenyatta who protected him when he was almost blocked through the famous ‘Change the Constitution Movement’.

“You don’t need those politicians around you to speak for you. Stop early campaigns and be loyal to your boss…support him in building his legacy,” he said.

The MP added: “Uhuru’s blessings will make you president and not Maina Kamanda or the young politicians yelling your name all over.
