A father in Sri Lanka is a marked man after his three sons were adversely mentioned in the Easter Sunday bombings which claimed the lives of at least 359 people, maiming 500 others.
Mohamed Yusuf Ibrahim, a wealthy spice trader in Sri Lanka’s capital of Colombo, was arrested and detained Wednesday after police found links that revealed he may have aided his sons to commit the heinous act that has been condemned by leaders from all over the world.
CCTV footage have emerged showing Ibrahim’s sons in a hotel elevator, where together with his other brother, decide to detonate their bombs on foreign tourists taking breakfast.
In another footage, one of the nine suspected suicide bombers identified by police is seen entering a church compound carrying a heavy back-pack on his back.
The suicide bomber is said to have headed straight to the front of the church from where he detonated his explosives, killing more than 110 Christians marking Easter.
Since the ugly incident, police have maintained a 10pm-4am curfews in the South-East Asian island country.
About 60 people have been arrested, with at least 32 being detained in connection with the terror attack.
The Government of Sri Lanka reorganized its security department after details emerged that India and the US had warned Sri Lanka two weeks before the attack, yet no action was taken.
The father of the suicide bomber remains in custody where police continue to question his links and the possibility of whether he aided the attack or otherwise.
