DCI George Kinoti thanks the Coast region Security arms for reduced criminal activities

The Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti has thanked the Coast region security leaders for their continued fight on criminal activities which have reduced tremendously.

The Coastal region has been known for criminal activities mostly involving young school going children.

Most of the notorious gangs are believed to operate on different turfs across the county with hotspots including, Chaani, Changamwe, Kisauni, Mtwapa, Old Town, Likoni, and Majengo.

The Suspects are also believed to have operations in Buxton, and Jomvu where there have been arrests in the past with most of the gangs being characterized with members whose age range from 12 to 18-years-old.

But with the heightened security, most of these gang have been contained courtesy of the security operations that have been carried by security agencies.

Some of the gangs are believed to be users of drugs who engage in outlawed activities to raise money for the drugs.

The DCI was in Mombasa for a number of duties among them meeting senior security officers from various specialized units in the region. He was also in the area for the opening of the new coast regional police headquarters.
