Manchester United Spots De Gea’s Perfect Replacement Should He Decide to Leave

Manchester United have identified a possible replacement of their goalkeeper David De Gea should he opt to get out of Old Trafford.

De Gea’s contract extension has been a subject of debate for quite a long time now with his agents and Manchester United failing to agree every time.

De Gea has around 15 months to run on his existing deal at the Theatre of Dreams and the club have made little progress in negotiations over an extension.

The Spaniard, the winner of four of the last five Player of the Year awards at the club, wants parity with top earner Alexis Sanchez on around £400,000-a-week.

However, United privately admit they made a mistake in handing the Chilean such inflated wages and will not bow to De Gea’s demands, fearing that it will only create more problems.

At United, there is a constant fear that the Spaniard Keeper may leave this summer at a cut-price fee or a transfer fee in 2020 for this is the third time he is making his threats of leaving Old Trafford.

But United seems to be preparing to survive without him and they have spotted Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak, 26.

Jan Oblak is considered the perfect replacement for David De Gea

The Slovenian has been considered a possible and perfect replacement for De Gea.

Oblak recently signed new terms with the club, extending his contract until 2023 and inserting a new, higher release clause in his deal.

Do You think David De Gea is justified to request such a huge amount to stay at Old Trafford? Comments below.
