Family demands to know the truth about suicide case of matatu driver

A Kisumu matatu driver was on Tuesday found dangling from a rope in his room, leaving his family in turmoil.

While the family said that in their interaction with the 28-year-old Charles Otieno they found nothing to link with him wanting to take away his own life, they faulted police for failing to act promptly.

“His body has been in the house for a long time, the police arrived four hours later,” said Jane Awour a witness.

Charles was fond dangling on a rope in his house at 3 pm on Tuesday with neighbors claiming that he was heard talking to some people in the morning before he was found dead in his house.

His father Jacob Okoth said his son was an ambitious man who had no suicidal tendencies asking the police to fasten investigations and reveal the true cause of his death.

“I spoke to my son in the morning and told me of his plan to start a new business.  He has our sole breadwinner,” he said.
