Court set for trial of mother and three daughters who killed dad

A woman and her three teenage daughters who allegedly colluded to kill their father are expected in court on Tuesday for trial.

The three reportedly burnt up John Maina, and were caught in the act by an in-law.

Maina’s brother, John Ndirangu, told police that he visited the deceased’s home at 6am on Saturday morning, and found his sister-in-law and her daughters outside with a badly burnt body. Ndirangu said he discovered that they were dragging his brother’s body to a shallow grave that they had dug near the family house when he alerted neighbours.

According to Police Commander Josphat Kinyua, the case is still under investigations and police will be seeking 14 more days to finalize.

The 47-year-old woman is mother to the three daughters in Form Three, Form Two and Class Eight. She escaped death by a whisker as enraged neighbours were set to lynch her before police intervened.
