55-year-old Kirinyaga guard slain by rogue gang

A 55-year-old watchman at a trader’s home in Ngurui Village of Kirinyaga ended up killed by an irate gang that was trying to break into the house.

The guard, Benson Kihoro was caught alongside a house help, who was robbed of Sh19,500.

The two work at trader John Mwangi’s home, who works in Mombasa.

Mr Kihoro’s body is reported to have been found badly mutilated to the Karatina Hospital Mortuary, as investigation have been launched into the case.

This comes as a Kirinyaga University student was within the same month
attacked and stabbed to death as he walked to an off campus hostel.
The attackers also robbed the student of his phone. The murder caused an uproar among students who decried the security of the area.
