Couple arrested in possession of bhang rolls

Police are holding a man and his wife found with 270 rolls of bhang worth over Sh800,000. They were caught in their house at Miti moja, Huruma Estate in Uasin Gishu County. Turbo OCPD Zachariah Bittok said the two suspects accompanied by others still at large, had been trading in the drug for quite some time.

“We have been monitoring their movements since last year after receiving information from neighbours that some people were selling bhang, especially in secondary schools and colleges. We have finally arrested the main culprits who are assisting us with investigations,” said Bittok.

He said some accomplices are believed to be in the neighbouring country. The OCPD commended resident for providing information. “The police cannot succeed in their work without the support from members of the public. I appeal to them to volunteer information whenever they come across such incidents,” he said.
