Ailing Kibaki denies endorsing Ruto.

Retired President, Mwai Kibaki has distanced himself from claims that he has endorsed Deputy President William Ruto for 2022 succession politics.

Kibaki who was admitted at Karen Hospital for routine checkup on Saturday steered clear of the matter and instead asked leaders to ensure that the country remained peaceful as they campaigned.

Rift Valley politicians led by Kipchumba Murkomen and Oscar Sudi on Thursday urged the former President to give Ruto his blessings.

“You have worked very well with Ruto and your support for his bid for presidency would do him good,”  Murkomen said

Kapseret member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi echoed Murkomen’s remarks urging the Mount Kenya region not to betray the Deputy President in 2022.

“Kalenjins and Kikuyus have been at peace since the formation of the Jubilee government. Let no devil suspend the existing peace for selfish gain” Sudi added.
