To know what God requires of us, we need to take time to read His word.
God has the power to give us anything we want without lifting a finger but He didn’t put us here on earth to live a lazy life. He wants us to earn what we get. He also blesses us in accordance with how we work.
The following five scriptures are set to remind you what God wants us to learn about the essence of hard work.
1. Colossians 3: 23
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
It is God who’s giving you the talent and ability to work, so when you work, do it for His glory not man’s for that way you guaranteed to be blessed.
2. Phillippians 4:13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
There is nothing that can’t be achieved when God is your guide and strength. This verse comes especially handy when you come across challenges and it will always help you going even when you feel like you lack the know how.
3. Proverbs 14:23
All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
This clearly shows that a dreamer who merely only dreams and talks more about what they want will not be rewarded with profit but rather the dreamer that does the work that will. So less talk, more action!
4. Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
As you work hard and make plans for the future let God in on it so that what you do is blessed and will not falter but succeed.
5. Proverbs 12:11
Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.
It is simple, you reap what you sow. You sow in hard work, you reap in a heap of fruit in return. So do not expect much if all you do is the bare minimum.
