‘Like sheep to the slaughterhouse!’ A Nairobian has taken it upon herself to forewarn our daughters and be their self proclaimed Guardian Angel on the ‘you guy my guy’ phenomenon that could be life-threatening in the most extremes.
She unleashed a thread warning Nairobi beauties to avoid the “Cheers baba” types who call them last minute for out of town plots.
The cheers baba is a trend that first came to the limelight 2 years ago and has taken over Nairobi in regards to some fellows who earn at least 100, 000 Kshs going upwards, are around 27 to 35 years old and drive a Subaru, most likely a 2006-2007 Subaru Imprezza. This is their famous starter pack:
And these guys are known for using phrases like ‘Cheers Baba’, ‘You guy my guy’ or ‘In Vasha (Naivasha), I was in the moti with some mamis kunywaing a Jamey (Jameson)’.
We all probably know a guy who says something like ’”You guy my guy, we went to Vasha last weekend and we were chilling with some chilles and botiz in my moti. Then the mamiz semad at they don’t want Jame, so my guy we bought some vodo.” Or something close to that.
She has exposed these men as ‘Carnivores’ and warned girls to be on the lookout and not end up being feasted by the “You guy, my guy” dudes.
