4 Kenyan Delicacies that are Perfect for this Easter

Easter is here!

It’s a distinctly Kenyan Easter ya’ll and we are feeling nostalgic about the Easter of our youth (Born 90’s please look away). It was the height of the year to eat any of these foods. Without further ado here are some distinctly Kenyan Easter foods that we are looking forward to eating!

1.Soda

For some people, soda was the highlight of Easter time. So much so,  soda  ilikuwa inafichwa. There was soda for visitors and then soda for you and your siblings. Kenyans are a peculiar people during Christmas.

2. Pilau

Pilau njeri is the order of the day until December 25th, then your mom pulls out the stops and makes the best beef pilau you’ve ever tasted. I mean… who is this woman and where has she been all year aki!?

3. Chapati

Is it really a holiday if there isn’t a crazy amount of chapati to feed the family for weeks after? The answer is no. Guys, you can literally swim in all the chapati that is made by all your aunties. Just enjoy the chapati while it last because as of Tuesday it is Ugali mayai until further notice.

4. Nyama Choma

Nyama Choma is a national treasure and don’t argue with us, please. It’s in our blood. Every Holiday we must sit around a goat or cow and roast it. Any Holiday without nyama choma is a scam. Also, who does that surely?
