Flamboyant advocate Donald Kipkorir is appealing to President Uhuru Kenyatta to dismiss Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia.
He is accusing the CS of sabotage, claiming that the CS was either acting out of ignorance or stupidity. Mr. Kipkorir went ahead to enumerate some of the CS’s actions, which he said demonstrated incompetence or malice.
According to the lawyer, Mr Macharia bungled the Kenya Airways (KQ)-Kenya Airways deal, by attempting to have a broke private company take over a solid private entity.
He described the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) as a scam and accused the CS of doing nothing to remedy the situation.
“SGR maybe an exciting project, but I don’t see how it will make a profit in 1,000 years,” he claimed.
The advocate also cited ferries bought by Kenya Ferry Services (KFS), which he said to spend more time undergoing repairs than ferrying people. The worst of all, he said, is the proposed housing project, which he says, must have been conceived with theft in mind.
“How do you say that those in charge of the intended multi-million fund will be fined Ksh10, 000 if they steal the money?” he wondered.
“Please help us help you. Dismiss Hon Macharia with immediate and let him be investigated for possible corrupt motives,” Mr. Kipkorir pleaded with the president.
