How Corrupt Ayub Savula Colluded with his two wives to Defraud Kenyans

lifestyle audit

In August last year, Lugari MP Ayub Savula sensationally claimed that corruption should be punishable by death.

“Someone who steals Sh1 billion is equivalent to a murderer. How many people would die in hospitals for lack of medicine as a result of the theft?” he posed.

Less than two months later, Savula and his two wives were arrested over a sh2.5 billion scandal at the Government Advertising Agency (GAA). If his law was to be passed, then Savula would have been executed long ago.

DCI Director George Kinoti confirmed the legislator, who is serving his second term, was arrested by his officers for conspiring to steal Sh122,335,500 from the ministry of Information Communications and Technology.

Savula and his wives; Melody Gatwiri and Hellen Jepkorir were controversially freed on bail and the case is continuing in court.

It was therefore surprising when the MP issued a statement on Wednesday asking for Deputy President William Ruto to be subjected to a lifestyle audit.

“We want to know the net worth of the Deputy President so that when he will be running for president in 2022 we shall be able to assess whether he is fit to hold that office or not,” said Mr Savula.

Now we know that Ruto might be corrupt. But Ayub Savula should be the last person to lecture anyone on corruption.

This is a man, who in his own words, should have been executed long time ago. Some people do not even deserve airtime.
