PCEA church wrangles as leaders are sued over 9.6 million church money

The Presbyterian Church of Eastern Africa (PCEA) has again gone to court over church money wrangles.

The church is now suing its former Moderator David Gathanju and two others have been sued for allegedly failing to pay Sh9.6 million they owe the church.

“The trio agreed to pay back the money amounting to Sh9.6 million in various installments ending August 10, 2017. They have however failed or refused to pay back the money under the terms of the MoU,” stated the Registered Trustees of the PCEA, who filed the case against the accused.

This is as the same Moderator in question, Mr Gathanju is also facing charges of stealing Sh50.9 million from the church alongside accomplices named James Muiruri and Peter Kamuthu.

The moderator now stands to answer both the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi and the Kiambu Court for his questionable conduct in regards to church money.
