A third year Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) student passed on while on a swimming expedition with his friends in Murang’a.
21-year-old Joseph Mbugua reportedly drowned while swimming with three of his colleagues at a pool in Kenol Market, Murang’a.
Police say the matter was reported by the colleagues, and have launched investigations into whether the death was predetermined or accidental.
The victim’s family has posed questions into the death, probing that the truth should be sought.
“The family want a second autopsy conducted in our presence. We are yet to understand how he drowned in a small swimming pool yet he knows how to swim,” said family spokesperson Stephen Gathemba.
