Francis Atwoli might have just dug his own grave following his latest onslaught on DP William Ruto.
Atwoli, during a funds drive in Lamu claimed that William Ruto’s name will not be on the ballot come 2022 and as such his supporters should shift their support elsewhere.
Atwoli claimed that Joho, who was also part of the Lamu meeting will form the next government at the expense of Ruto.
“I assure you that after the election, Mr Hassan Joho will be in the list of those to form the new government that will provide five key slots. In the list however, you won’t see any one by the name of William Ruto taking any position, be it President, Deputy President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister [or any other]. The only people you will see are those standing for justice.” Said Atwoli.
These sentiments continue to elicit mixed reactions among Ruto’s allies and supporters with Oscar Sudi seemingly angered the most.
Ruto has said that as a community, they are taking Atwoli’s remarks seriously as they argue that it was a threat to the DP’s life.
“We are taking Atwoli’s remarks seriously as a community and if anything happens to William Ruto then Atwoli should be ready to tell us,” Said Sudi during a press conference with Journalists in Eldoret.
A Number of Politicians allied to Ruto including Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruyiot have argued that Atwoli’s statements were a threat to Ruto’s life and as such should be taken seriously.
Both Oscar Sudi and Aaron Cheruiyot have even reminded Kenyans how former Kabete MP George Muchai was killed in Cold blood in a period he was having problems with his then boss Francis Atwoli.
With this in mind, Ruto’s allies want Atwoli taken seriously.
“The threat by Atwoli that WSR will not be on the ballot come 2022 shouldn’t be taken lightly.
The late Hon Muchai and Atwoli disagreed on COTU leadership, by election time he was for sure not on the ballot,” Said Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot.
On his Part, Oscar Sudi has demanded that Atwoli comes clean on the murder of Hon. George Muchai and the Mega NSSF scandals.
“Who killed the former Kabete MP Hon. George Muchai?, Who is behind the mega scandals in NSSF?…. Atwoli needs to come clean and tell Kenyans the truth,” Said Sudi.
Well, it seems like Atwoli’s remarks have just invoked the wrath of William Ruto’s supporters and allies.
