This is why Chelsea will blame themselves for the Liverpool lose

The chase for the top four positions in the Premer League is heating up slowly but surely as teams seek to cement their place in League.

The third to the sixth position is actually where the competition is and a win for any of the teams in the bracket means a lot.

Chelsea missed the chance to cement their place in the top four as they were beaten at Anfield.

Maurizio Sarri’s men went into their encounter with Liverpool in fourth with the pressure on after wins for Tottenham and Manchester United on Saturday.

Spurs put Huddersfield to the sword before a below-par United edged out West Ham at Old Trafford.

But despite a resolute first-half display, Chelsea could not extend their recent good form against Liverpool.

Sadio Mane headed in the opener for the hosts and just minutes later Mohamed Salah thumped home a stunning drive from range.
