The Bible says that what God has put together, let no man put asunder. These are the best words to describe the relationship between firebrand Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and DP William Ruto.
And no, am not talking about a romantic relationship. This is a political relationship cooked in heaven and meant to thrive ahead of 2022.
On Saturday, news broke that the outspoken Senator, who is known in political cycles as the Iron Lady of Nakuru, had lost her security detail under unclear circumstances.
It is clear that Jubilee Party has split in the middle, as succession politics and Susan Kihika has made it clear that she is William Ruto’s loyal soldier.
In January this year, she was recorded on video telling David Murathe that his opinion was like an asshole.
But in fact, the political relationship between Susan and Ruto has not started now. Theirs has been blossoming for a few years now.
Ruto spotted Susan during her time as the Speaker of the Nakuru County Assembly she stood firm to make sure the assembly delivered on its key responsibilities of oversight and legislation.
Sources believe that its Ruto who introduced her to controversial Businessman Sam Mburu.
Mburu who hails from Solai in Nakuru County, is a close friend to the DP and is the one who bankrolled Susan’s multi-million campaign in 2017. The campaign included a chopper and dishing out huge amounts of money.
This is one of the reasons why Kihika is a key member of the Tanga Tanga team and will not betray Ruto anytime soon.
