Real Madrid star, Sergio Ramos out for two weeks, here is why

Sergio Ramos has been diagnosed with a calf injury ahead of Real Madrid’s trip to neighbours Léganes on Monday, the club has announced this Friday.

Real Madrid have confirmed that Sergio Ramos has picked up an injury that could see him out of play for at least a fortnight

“After the tests carried out on our player Sergio Ramos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a grade I injury in his left soleus (lower calf muscle). Progress pending,” the club stated on its website.

The injury setback could see Ramos out for around two weeks, meaning he will not play any part in the game at Leganés on Monday.

On the positive front, Zidane is expected to welcome back Dani Carvajal, Marcos Llorente and Thibaut Courtois to the fold for Monday’s game.

Meanwhile, as reported by AS this Friday, young Brazilian starlet Vinicius could make his return against Bilbao on Sunday week, 21 April, after having been absent through injury since the 4-1 defeat to Ajax on 5 March.

This season Ramos has once again been an indispensable starter at Madrid, as evident by his high level of participation. With 3,662 minutes played between all competitions, only Benzema (3,868) has played more minutes than the Madrid captain.
