Kilifi County shines at the DIAR Award Gala

Last night, Kilifi county bagged a DIAR (National Diversity and inclusion awards and recognition) Award on diversity and inclusion.

DIAR Awards celebrates Individuals, Corporates, NGOs, government agencies etc who champion for Inclusion and diversity in all its forms.

The awarding ceremony went down yesterday at Safari Park hotel and brought together delegates from various organizations and sectors.

DIAR based the award of the ethnic inclusion and diversity of public institutions on data collected by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) while conducting the ethnic and diversity audits of the Public Service.

Kilifi County emerged the most diverse in the list of Counties that have complied with section 65 of the County Governments Act, 2012.

Speaking after the win, the Kilifi County Governor Amason Kingi noted that they are indeed proud of the win and the fact that their county plays a key role i in ensuring embracing diversity and fronting an agenda for shared prosperity.

He also reiterated his commitment to boost the efforts of unifying their people.

He also emphasized that as a people, they must learn to live together as brothers and sisters, champion for peaceful coexistence and build a strong, cohesive and united County.

The win by Kilifi County comes at the 2nd edition of the award ceremony after the inaugural event.
