Uganda opposition and Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine has said time for Museveni to step down is ready.
He said that the intention to run for presidency 2022 will amount to criminality.
has said much as President Museveni is planning to stop him from running for president in the 2021 elections, he and other democratic forces, are determined to end his rule.
“We are even aware of plans by Museveni and his regime to amend laws so as to block our participation in the next election,” he says in a lengthy statement titled: UNDERSTANDING OUR ‘GET YOUR NATIONAL ID’ CAMPAIGN IN THE CONTEXT OF THE SUDAN AND ALGERIA UPRISINGS.
Bobi wine has been on the move to bring revolution in Uganda after many years of suffering to the opposition leaders led by Kiza Besigye.
“We will not allow dictatorship in Uganda and if Museveni dies today,we can have an election within six months,” He said.
“If Museveni fell today, what would be the next step? The proper thing to do would be to demand free and fair elections within six months as required by Article 109(2) of the Constitution,” he says in a statement shared on his social media platforms.
“I am persuaded beyond doubt that comrade Dr. Kizza Besigye has won at least two elections in the past and was rigged. But I also know that the win was not as decisive as it ought to be if we confronted the despot as a more united and prepared front,” he said.
It’s alleged that the opposition in Uganda is planning to rally people on the street to force Museveni to step down.
Early last this year Bobi wine was arrested and detained for opposing Museveni style of leadership.
Wine in cohort with Besigye is now under the watch of the Yoweri Museveni who is suspected they overthrow the government.
