”Whenever we had a quarrel in the morning, he would make sure that in the evening he is waiting for me with his car outside my workplace so that I don’t run away. That harshness does not stop even if he is the one to be blamed.

”After learning of my planned escape from his house, he could make sure that every evening he passes by my workplace to pick me home” she narrated.

The stabbing was not the first incidence since the man had attempted to murder her earlier on. She said the man was terrorizing her life and that of her children adding that last year, her husband confronted her with a machete trying to kill her but their landlady came to their rescue.

”Last year he took a machete to kill me but the landlady came to my rescue. He burned all my clothes during the incident and I reported him to Gachengi police station,” she said. Even though she reported the matter to police, they would later agree to resolve the issue without involving the courts and forgave the man.
