A married man in Tharaka Nithi County was on Thursday apprehended for allegedly attempting to forcefully mutilate his wife’s genitals.
The suspect was apprehended at Muthenge village in Maara Sub-county alongside three of his relatives.
Reports indicate that the woman’s in-laws and her husband had been pressuring her to undergo the cut and on Thursday morning they decided to force her into it by giving her an ultimatum of facing the knife or leave the home.
The four were detained at Chogoria Police Station.
