The late ‘Right Hand To God’ hitmaker, Nipsey Hussle memorial service was held at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. The emotional service had many celebrities in attendance. Among them were, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder and Lil Wayne’s son. Their tributes left the whole congeregation in tears.

Snoop Dogg had to pause at one point while addressing the mourners. He was brought to tears after beginning his speech with a heartfelt shout-out to Lauren London, who had dated Nipsey since 2013 and bore his son, Kross, 2. “I want to start off by showing some love to Lauren and Nipsey’s children. I want to send Lauren a lot of love for being a beloved queen to our king.

See, what we lose focus on is that every real black man needs a real black woman in his life. Every time I would see Nip and Lauren out, they reminded me of me and my wife. It was like black excellence. You loved to see them. So, with that being said, Lauren, my wife, my family, my kids, we’re here for you. Whatever you need, whatever you need. You need a shoulder to cry on, if you need a hug…we’re here for you. We love you baby girl. We always have and we always will.”

The ‘Just called to say I love you’ hitmaker’, Stevie Wonder commemorated Nipsey through a melody that holds a deep place of significance to the late rapper. Wonder sang ‘Rocket Love’ before the moment was complete. He said; “It’s a heartbreak to again lose a member of our family. It’s a heartbreak because it’s so unnecessary.

It is so painful to know that we don’t have enough people taking a position that says, ‘listen, we must have stronger gun laws. It is almost like the world is becoming blind. I pray that we will grow and that the leaders who have responsibility to perpetuate life will do it by making sure that the laws will make it very hard for people to have guns and take their frustrations out to kill life.”

Lil Wayne’s son, Cameron Carter was also in attendance. He said that on the night of April 2 he had a dream in which he was in paradise with Nipsey. Nip popped up out of nowhere to say ‘Hi’ to him. He said, ‘What up Killa!’ because that’s my nickname to him,” he told the crowd. He then turned around and yelled out his name and he gave him a hug. In the end, Cameron believes that Nipsey was telling him that heaven is a paradise.

Nipsey was shot in front of his clothing store, The Marathon, on March 31.
