Mbita MP Millie Mabona Odhiambo wears controversy of fighting battles with her tongue. Political aficionados allege that it was her insults towards President Uhuru that charmed the heart of the charged pro ODM voters in her constituency that saw her surmount a tough battle to retain her seat.
When she is insulting fellow politicians, it all good. However, Mabona went a tad bit far when yesterday, Thursday 11th-she stormed the journalists’ only space, shouting herself hoarse, throwing a tantrum and hurling unprintable insults at scribes for writing a story that appeared to have touched a raw nerve.
Her issue? A story had run in the dailies over massive misappropriation of public funds, according to Auditor General Edward Ouko and her constituency was on the spot.
However, the specific scribe she targeted was AWOL. Realizing that her target was not present, she vowed swore to physically teach the reporter the lesson of his lifetime.
What amused and stunned journalists who had converged at the media center is that the lawmaker, in the middle of her hysteria, implicated a fellow MP — they do not see eye to eye — from her county. She claimed he sponsored the story that was widely shared on WhatsApp and Face-book platforms in her constituency.
