Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua
In his post, Mutua urged African leaders who have been in power for decades to pass on the button to the younger generation and not to wait for the embarrassment of being forcefully ousted out like the Sudanese did to Omar al-Bashir.
Daily Nation columnist Gabriel Oguda stopped the governor in his tracks and reminded him that his record as government spokesman was characterized by “pinhole sycophantism and shameless propaganda”.
Oguda added that during one time, Mutua denied that Kenyans were dying of hunger yet it was an obvious fact.
A lot of Kenyans seemed to agree with Mr. Oguda with some dropping their memories of Mutua’s tenure in the replies section.
