Ahead of their clash against Manchester United on Saturday, West Ham United are set to miss the services of Andy Carroll, Samir Nasri, Andriy Yarmolenko, Winston Reid, Carlos Sanchez, and Jack Wilshere.
A win over West Ham could massively boost United’s top four ambitions with Arsenal not playing until Monday in a difficult game against Watford. With fourth-placed, Tottenham Hotspur playing early on Saturday against the already relegated Huddersfield Town and Chelsea being five points ahead of United, the Red Devils will unlikely move into top four but will improve their chances of qualifying for Champions League next season.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of United game, Pellegrini gave an injury update on the six, “Andy Carroll has had surgery in his ankle and Samir Nasri felt his muscle. The players that have long injuries – Yarmolenko and Carlos Sanchez – are recovering. In a couple of weeks, I hope they are ready to work with the squad.
“Winston Reid is also still working back from his long injury. Jack Wilshere is almost ready. He played an U23s game last week and he will play another one. Hopefully next week he will be 100 per cent with us.”
