Arsenal manager Unai Emery is waiting on the fitness of several stars ahead of the Gunners’ Europa League clash with Napoli.

Both Laurent Koscielny and Granit Xhaka are set for late assessments and could return to the side against Carlo Ancelotti’s men. The Arsenal skipper has been struggling with a foot injury while Xhaka has had a groin problem, ruling the pair out of the past two matches.

The duo are back in training and stand a chance of making the starting XI as Emery looks to field his strongest line-up.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to feature if he overcomes an illness in time, having been benched for the past two games.

Speaking about the Gabon striker, Emery said: “He had a small problem and he has been taking antibiotics because he is sick.

“That is the reason he didn’t start the last two matches.”

“We are going to decide tomorrow [on Xhaka and Koscielny]. Tomorrow we will decide,” added Emery.

Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin and Danny Welbeck are all long-term absentees but Sokratis is back from suspension and should line up in a back three, having now picked up a domestic suspension.

Aaron Ramsey only made the bench in the 1-0 defeat to Everton but should be fit enough to face Napoli.

The Welshman will be in competition with Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi for advanced midfield roles.

Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette could drop to the bench if Emery only deploys one central striker.
