Tusker edge out KCB in a tightly contested affair

Muchiri on target as Tusker stun KCB

Tusker FC registered a 1-0 win over visiting KCB in a Kenyan Premier League match staged at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Thursday. 

Boniface Muchiri scored right from the corner to hand the Breweries all the important points at home.

Francis Kimanzi’s men have had a mixture of results, winning just one match out of nine Premier League outings, which saw the club drop ninth on the log. The most recent match Emery Mvuyekure was shown a red card a Tusker settled for a goalless draw with hosts Mathare United.

The Breweries started the match on a high and got an early chance through Peter Nzuki, whose attempt from close range missed the target after a defection from KCB’s backline. And the resulting corner yielded to nothing. T

Right from the start of the second half, the Breweries were pressing high and got a corner after KCB’s keeper tipped Timothy’s header. Boniface Muchiri stepped up to take the corner, and right from the corner spot, the ball kissed the back of the net. N

KCB will host Sofapaka on Sunday 14th at Kenyatta Stadium while Tusker will be away to Kariobangi Sharks at MISC Kasarani.
