Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya is now Deputy President point-man in western region deputized by former senator Boni Khalwale.
Deputy president is politically wedging out the former prime minister from the matrix of succeeding president Uhuru if any chance arises.
A privy source familiar with the political arrangement, Oparanya has been organizing the meetings for the deputy president in Western.
“Oparanya is the DP point man in the western region especially in Kakamega and if you have checked recently Boni Khalwale hasn’t been in record abusing him like before,” the source said.
He adds that the DP is working hard to ensure that he gets a good number of the western region leaders who will drum support for his presidential bid.
In return, Oparanya has been promised the position of the cabinet secretary or Ambassador in case the DP takes over the government.
Its also romoured that Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula has also joined the Ruto’s camp.
Wetangula last year felled out with opposition leader Raila Odinga after he was impeached as Senate minority leader.
Wetangula is the leader of Ford Kenya party.
Speaking to a local television former Jubilee party interim vice chair said that the DP trying everything possible to succeed president Uhuru.
Murathe accused Ruto of reviving the URP party in preparation for 2022.
“What are those guys doing with yellow URP attire,the DP is reviving the party in preparation for 2022,”he said.
