Sonko Takes Critical Measures To Mitigate Long Rains Effects

Nairobi county will prioritize work on CBD drainage systems as the rainy season approaches. Sonko promised Nirobians in January,2019.

Through a combination of the County’s Transport and Environment departments, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko gave a directive that all drainage systems in the capital be unclogged.

He also said that the environment department is to ensure that waste is collected along roads, open trenches and walkways while the transport team will work on unclogging.

To maintain a clean and functional drainage system, Sonko promised that the unclogging would take place before the long rains

True to his words, The Nairobi Governor has commissioned a group of workers and they have already started unclogging the sewage around Nairobi

As we anticipate for the long rains in Nairobi, my admin has stepped up efforts to unclog the drainage system to avert effects of heavy rains.
