Ruto hints of working with Odinga in future

Deputy president William Ruto has said that he has no ill blood against former prime minister Raila Odinga.

He accused the media among other channels used by his opponents to propagate lies.

He said that there is a possibility of working with Odinga in the future if he stops attacking him.

Speaking to local television, The DP said that he has been good friends with Raila for long.

He said that he was the first person to be contacted by Odinga before he approached Uhuru.

“There are no enemies in politics, I can’t rule out working with Mr. Odinga in future if he stops attacking my personality,” he said.

Ruto said that he supports handshakes 100 percent as it has brought peace across the Country.

Though he has raised some very serious questions about the truce, he noted that the union has returned calmly in the country, and enhanced social and economic peace.

“It’s working to an extent. To an extent that we don’t have any demonstrations anymore, we don’t have people quarreling in the streets anymore, we’ve toned down problems and businesses are running without problems, it is working,” Ruto said.

He added that he supports a continuation of the good terms between the two leaders, and is in support of its Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) aftermath founded by the two after their truce.

“It should continue regardless of my issues with it,” he added.

Uhuru and Raila based the handshake on the need for the country to come up with remedies to the recurrent post-election issues, which at times result in bitter wrangles between politicians and citizens.

Although a section of the Jubilee politicians allied to DP is against the handshake Ruto said though its ill-motivated its somehow shaping the Country.
