How did Nameless get his name?

David Mathenge alias Nameless on Tuesday released a remix to his song Megarider which was his first song.

The song introduced him to the music industry in 1999 when he was still a university student.

He held a night shift job in a bank when he made a call into Hits Not Homework.

This was a show on Captial Fm hosted by Muthoni Bwika, who was at the time running a music talent competition.

To his surprise, he won the competition, and because he was not well prepared, and didn’t want to disclose his real identity for fear of being reprimanded by his employer, called himself Nameless when Muthoni asked him his name on air.

When he realised that his performance on air had captured attention, he stuck to the name which has come to be a big thing in the music industry.

His remix with Khaligraph Jones has been received positively by fans and applauded the two for keeping the old memories.
