‘Why show up on her funeral but had no interest on her condition,’ city lawyer condemn

The death of one woman in Kakamega has left many in shock after she delivered five wonderful babies, and different people have come to speak t out.

City lawyer Donald Kipkorir slammed leaders from mulembe nation for abandoning the 28-year-old woman who gave birth to five babies in Kakamega county on Wednesday, March 13.

City lawyer Donald Kipkorir has slammed Luhya leaders for abandoning the deceased Kakamega mother of quintuplets.

Evelyn Namukhula who sprung to the limelight after giving birth to three girls and two boys through a Caesarean Section at Kakamega General Hospital, died on Sunday, April 7 after developing persistent complications.

Taking to his Twitter handle on Tuesday, April 9, the counsel castigated area leaders for ignoring to woman at the time she needed their support the most.

Kipkorir regretted that the very politicians will be the ones gracing the funeral function of the deceased and would seize the sorrowful occasion to hurl insults at each other over the region’s political trajectory.

“They didn’t go to see her when she gave birth to five babies nor sent her gifts. They didn’t visit her when admitted to Hospital on post-maternity complications. But at her funeral, they’ll be there hurling expletives at Luhya Enemies .. Not mourning her or comforting her family,” posted the lawyer.

Everlyn, a resident of Sisokhe village in Navakholo, Kakamega county was transferred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) with her quintuplets after one of them developed breathing complications.

She died at the facility on Sunday morning after reportedly complaining of chest pain hours before she succumbed.

Prior to her death, Evelyn had lost her two baby boys who doctors said were “very sick” by the time of admission.

The other three, all girls, are reported to be in good condition and are still at hospital.

Earlier, Luhya elders had termed the birth of five babies a “bad omen” and had demanded that three of them be killed to only all two to grow.

They also restricted the mother from breastfeeding the babies.
